Western University offers many support services available to many students. Check out some of our resources below!


Student Health Services

Student Health Services is an appointment based medical clinic for all registered part-time and full-time students at Huron and Western. Urgent problems such as infections or injuries can often be seen the same day.
Student Health Services also offers free individual counselling to all registered students. Student Health services is located in the University Community Centre, Room 11.

Student Emergency Response Team (SERT)
The UWO Student Emergency Response Team is a student run, volunteer organization providing emergency medical response to 9-1-1 calls on Main, Brescia, and Huron Campuses. They provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week during the academic school year and 8:30-4:30 weekday service from May to August. They are dispatched through the Campus Community Police Service (CCPS) to any medical emergency on-campus, responding in three person co-ed teams.

Campus Safety

Western Foot Patrol
Volunteer teams provide safe escorts on the main and affiliate college campuses, including some off campus locations. The co-ed teams will wait with you at bus stops, ensure you reach your car safely in campus parking lots, and escort you to your residence or any other building on campus. Western Foot Patrol is a free service available to all students.

Campus Police
Campus Police patrol Western, and at Huron, Kings and Brescia University Colleges 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure the safety of all students on campus.

Mental Health

Mental Health and Addictions Crisis Centre
The mental health and addictions crisis centre provides support for; serious mental health or addictions problem, situational crisis, psychosis, risk of self-harm or harm to others, emotional trauma, agitation and sleeplessness, severe depression or anxiety, symptoms of substance use withdrawal and needing support, suicidal thoughts, crisis resulting from a gaming/internet disorder. They provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 648 Huron street.

Crisis Response Services
If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, walk into the Mental Health & Addictions Crisis Centre, call Reach Out (519 433 2023 or 1 866 933 2023), or web chat at with a mental health and addictions professional who can provide information, resources and crisis support.

Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence

Sexual Assault Centre London
The sexual assault centre London facilitates healing through public education, accompaniment, counselling, support groups, and a 24 hour crisis and support line. They are located at 255 Horton St. E. on the 3rd floor.

Regional Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence Treatment Program
The sexual assault and domestic violence treatment program is available to any individual of any gender stratification, including men and children, who have experienced sexual assault within the past year. The does not have to be receiving medical care from the program to be eligible for counselling. The counselling takes place at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
